Cally Trench I almost never wear jewellery, but I have a small collection of items given to me, or left to me, by friends and relations. These are drawings of those pieces of jewellery with brief explanations of their provenance. I have included the shadows cast by light from the window.

Imogen Welch When I was invited to participate in this project, I had my reservations, as drawing is not normally part of my practice and I was very nervous of picking up a pencil. I asked for a week at the end of the year, thinking I would have plenty of time to come up with something I was more comfortable with. As the week drew close it became apparent we would be in France for most of the time. At first this seemed even more difficult, but eventually I had an idea that fitted in with my normal practice (which is the transformation of the surface of found objects) and tied in with being on holiday. Postcards pieced with a pin. Four from Languedoc, two from the journey home and one from Dacorum where I live. Drawings of 8/7/14, 9/7/14 and 12/7/14 |
